Important Note: Necessity Organic Lip Balm must be absorbed into the skin to work effectively, so before applying, use a good cleanser to thoroughly wash the affected area. Petroleum-based products prevent Necessity Organic Lip Balm from working by blocking the skin pores. If you find that the skin continues to remain oily for more than a few minutes after applying Necessity Organic Lip Balm, thoroughly cleanse the area again and re-apply.

Necessity Organic Lip Balm ingredients include Jojoba Oil which has a natural Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 4. It also includes Shea Butter, which has a natural SPF which is variable, but can be as high as 6. Shea Butter absorbs rapidly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Another ingredient used in the product, Rosehip Oil, has been found to contain Trans-Retinoic Acid (a derivative of Retinol - Vitamin A) and this substance has been shown to have positive effects on skin damaged by excessive amounts of sunlight.
